Mark Hinman is a man with a big, big vision for the campdrafting and challenge industries.
He also owns a very good stallion and by combining his vision and his stallion he is intending to change the goalposts. Mark is offering a $500,000 Bonus Incentive program which will be available for all owners of Destined to be a Grifter progeny and will be paid out at a range of events throughout the year for winning and placing in those selected events.
This prize pool is guaranteed and ready and waiting for the owners/breeders/riders of Grifter progeny to collect. But wait there’s more. Mark expects that this prize pool will grow annually and this will allow him to extend the eligible venues every year. The Grifter Breeding Incentive Scheme will get bigger and better.
Destined to be a Grifter is a business as well as a stallion. He has his own company, Grifter Holdings Pty Ltd, and his own ACN, 654 806 738.
Destined to be a Grifter is a Conman son out of well performed mare Otfordvalley Annie, who is an Acres Destiny mare out of a Warrenbri Omega mare. Otfordvalley Annie is the dam of Grifter’s highly performed full embryo sisters, Annies Gift, owned by Brett Welsh & Joel Blake’s Annies Hustle. Breeding does not come any more impressive and he has the ability, temperament, and good looks to justify his genetic supremacy. He is a natural at work with cattle and in the arena and will attract the attention of serious horse breeders and competitors alike.
The owners/breeders/riders of the progeny will then be eligible to enjoy the benefits and privileges of the Grifter Breeding Incentive $500,000 scheme. The scheme will include the 2021 drop foals and these are already being sought out by ambitious owners and trainers hoping to be the first to benefit from the Incentive.
Mark bred Grifter and loved everything about him through the breaking and early training stages of his career. He made the decision to sell him at Nutrien, where he was purchased by Roger Grant. Mark regretted this decision as you can only breed so many horses of his potential and he had let him go. Fate intervened and Roger sold him back through Nutrien the following year. Mark wasn’t going to let him go again.
He was brought slowly through his performance ranks with Mat Holz in Victoria where he consistently won and placed. It was the impressive way he took everything in his stride that impressed Mark and the general crowd. The flashy grey stallion with looks and ability settling into his work with enthusiasm and ability is what all horse breeders and competitors search for.
Grifter has now returned to Mark in Tamworth for the breeding season and his competition life will resume in the near future. No hurry and no hassle, he is just an extremely good athlete with an owner who has the vision to make Grifter a new phenomenon within the breeding barn.
An interesting aside is his name. A “Grifter” is another name for a conman so not only does he have everything else happening, he has a very clever name.
